Job Description
A leading manufacturer and coater of steel line pipe for the oil and gas industry, is seeking a skilled and certified Mobile Crane Operator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating mobile cranes to safely and efficiently move, lift, and position heavy materials, including large-diameter steel pipes and manufacturing equipment. This role is essential to our "safety, quality, productivity" (SQP) approach and requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate mobile cranes with a high degree of precision to load, unload, and transport steel pipes and other materials throughout the facility.
Perform daily pre-operation inspections of the crane, including checking fluid levels, cables, hooks, and other safety mechanisms, and report any maintenance issues.
Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Communicate effectively with ground crew and supervisors using hand signals, radios, or other established communication methods.
Assist with rigging and signaling as needed to ensure safe and accurate lifts.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) or equivalent certification for mobile crane operation.
Proven experience operating mobile cranes in an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably in the steel, oil, or gas industry.
Strong understanding of crane load charts, lifting calculations, and rigging techniques.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
Strong commitment to safety and a good safety record.
Physical fitness to climb, balance, and work at heights.
