Job Description
Overview:
As an Estimator at RCR, you will play a key role in supporting residential and commercial restoration and reconstruction projects. This entry-level position offers room for growth and development within our expanding company. Estimators are responsible for creating accurate estimates using Xactimate software, reviewing project documentation, and negotiating with insurance carriers to ensure claims are resolved efficiently. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain quality, accuracy, and transparency throughout the estimating process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Create detailed and accurate estimates in Xactimate, including diagrams and line items, in line with industry and client standards
Review field documentation such as sketches, scopes, photos, and moisture maps to confirm the full scope of work is included
Package and submit estimates with supporting documentation for insurance and client review
Maintain communication with project teams, clients, carriers, and adjusters regarding estimate status and any necessary revisions
Negotiate repair, mitigation, abatement, and contents invoices with insurance carriers and adjusters
Work to keep claims in an approved or closed status while meeting margin expectations
Participate in internal quality control reviews to ensure compliance with company standards
Use tools and platforms such as XactAnalysis, DASH, and MICA
Provide field support and assist in site inspections when necessary
Stay accessible via phone and maintain a professional, positive demeanor
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum HSD/GED required
Prior experience in construction, restoration, estimating, or insurance is a plus
IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, ASD, AMRT) preferred but not required
Proficiency in Xactimate and XactAnalysis preferred (training provided)
Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and industry software
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and terminology (willing to train)
Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Self-motivated, goal-driven, and dependable
Strong math skills and commitment to process compliance
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check
Fluent in English
