Job Description

As an Account Specialist Intern, you'll support customers and teams, manage requests, learn commercial insurance basics, and build problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

What You'll Do

An account specialist intern builds relationships with customers and account managers/agents and ensures an excellent service experience that drives customer satisfaction and retention of business within assigned accounts/region. The intern will learn and apply basic underwriting guidelines within authority levels for new and/or renewal business and may occasionally visit customers or account managers.

Our Account Specialist - CL internship offers opportunities to:

• Build relationships with and provide outstanding service to designated producer(s), customers, and/or agents within the territory

• Assist Account Specialist of service-related items, such as emails and faxes regarding policy or coverage service needs, changes, questions, and problems

• Monitors and processes requests to ensure completion, including quotes, renewals, policy changes, urgent recommendations, billing, audit, and other service items

• Learns and applies product and procedural knowledge of commercial lines insurance coverages. Reviews and explains coverages to customers

• Liaison between sales producer, underwriting, other internal departments, and/or customers or agents to gather underwriting requirements and customer documents/signatures. Monitors status of outstanding quotes, renewals, and policy changes

• May perform work on special project to enhance department performance

What it Takes

To be considered for this position, the following criteria is necessary:

• Pursuing an undergraduate or associate degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Communication, or a related field.

• Obtain a minimum in-major GPA of 3.00.

• Expected graduation date of May 2027 - May 2028

• Ability to work in a team atmosphere

• Solid technical skills and ability to quickly learn various applications.

• Ability to analyze conflicts, determine solutions, and communicate effectively.

• Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.
